Information about an emblem was found in notes of the traveler of the Ulrikh fon Ferdum of 1671. It is written there about a representative of the family of Zamois'kyis: Verdum said that in a battle one of the Zamois'kyis was mortally wounded. King found him on a battle-field still alive and asked him about the last wish. The fighting-man answered that he was suffering from the wounds less than from quarrels with his neighbor who he owned a village with. In memory of that brave soldier the king had bought another part of the village back from that bad neighbor and gave it to the family with an emblem which looked like three spears. Later the spears transformed into arrows. That symbol became an emblem of Proskuriv because the town belonged to the Zamois'kyis.
