It was confirmed in June, 30th, 1999 by the decision #64-VI/ХХIII of city council session. Per fess. First Azure; rising eight-pointed star Argent with four lenticular rays Or. Second Vert; engrailed fess Azure, on it cathedral Argent with roof and five domes Or go beyond the field and superimposes on the star.
The first part is a tribute to the historic tradition, it reproduces the emblem of the 1811 - argent eight-pointed star rising on azure background. Cathedral in the center reproduces the architectural features outstanding monument of Wooden Architecture - Holy Trinity Cathedral, the spiritual guardian of the city. Azure fess means the river Samara, vert means its picturesque coastline with numerous parks and recreation areas of the townspeople. The author is V.Moskalenko. Image on site V.Napytkin.
