Leonid Danylovytsh Kuchma was born in August 9th 1938 in Chaikino village of the Chernihivs'ka oblast'. In 1960 he has completed Dnipropetrovs'k state university on a speciality of engineers-mechanicses of a space-rocket technique. In 1960-1986 he worked in "Southern machine works" - a leader of Ukrainain rocket production. In 1986-1992 he was a director of this assotiation. In 1990 he was elected a People's Deputy of Ukraine. In 1992-1993 he was a prime minister of Ukraine. In 1994 he was elected the President of Ukraine. For him have returned the voices 52% of voters. In November, 14th, 1999 for the second time was elected the President of Ukraine - this time for him have voted 56% of voters.
