PECHYHVOSTY
The first written mention of village refers to 1376, when prince Vladyslav Opol's'kyi has given it to the property of Marjan Shatovych. According to the legend, the settlement name has arisen in the time of campaigns against Tatars, when village inhabitants won, and Tatars had no meal therefore have been compelled to cut off tails ("hvosty") of horses, furnace ("pekty") it on a fire and eat. Two words "furnace" and "tails" are village name.
