The modern emblem

It was confirmed in September, 18th, 1998 by the decision #70-VII/ХХIІ of city council session.

Purple; circle Or, on it two heaps Sable, circle on top is surrounded by the 13 petals Or, on bottom by half of bucket wheel Sable with bordure Argent, in chief ribbon Or with inscription "1938" Sable, in base cossack saber and mace Or in saltire, which are imposed on the two ears Or tied by ribbon Or.
Symbols and color reflects the production of manganese ore in the open (rotary wheel) and mine (piles) way. The terricons have form of the letter "M", it indicates the city name. Cossack saber and mace mean the historical past, when the territory of present region was the part of Zaporizhzhya Sich.
