POLONNE

The foundation of the town is connected with the year of 996 when prince Volodymyr Sviatoslavovych registered it to Dessiatynna church. The origin of the name, probably, comes from the word "polone" - the inhabitants of Polissia (marshy scrub) called so unwooded places, meadows.
In the second half of the XVI century it was given the Magdeburg Right.
