It was confirmed in January, 11th, 1995 by the decision #4-22/19 of city council session. Per fess. First azure; Cossack in clothes gules with a rifle on his shoulder, with a saber and a powder-box on his waist-band. Second gules; horse argent courant to the sinister.
During XV - XVIII centuries the town was one of the centres of the Ukrainian Cossacks that's why there is a picture of a Cossack in the upper field. The heraldic horse is a symbol that unites courage of a lion, sight of an eagle, strength of a wolf, dexterity of a fox. All this shows the qualities of people from the ancient times living here and the old town emblem of 1852. The authors are O.Tolkushyn, A.Pendiura. Image on site C.Bohatov.
