Cross is a symbol of Christianity. The Gules symbolizes Volyn'. Prongs on the crowns symbolize the five villages of territorial community: Serby, Novi Serby, Zosymivka, Malynivka, Stari Serby. Azure field symbolizes the local water resources. Vert field indicates the forests. Sun with rays is an ancient symbol of the Eastern Slavs, one of the tribes, drevlyans, lived in our region.
