SAHAIDACHNYI PETRO (1610-1622)

Petro Kononovytsh Sahaidachnyi was born in the last third XVI in Halychyna, in rare family. Has received education in first Ukrainian Greec-slavic school. Under his management the Cossacks have devastated in 1607 Ochakiv and Perekop. In 1613 Sahaidachnyi twice quitted with the Cossacks in the Black sea and has captured some cities in region Khersones, and also had victored the turkish fleet, which was sent against him by the sultan Ahmet II. The next year he on eight-ten ships has quitted for the Black sea, has achieved Istanbul and has devastated suburbs of turkish capital. On a return road Cossacs in an ostium of Danube have conquered turkish fleet: all turkish ships was destroyed. In 1616 Sahaidachnyi has captured and has burnt city Kafa (Feodosiya) and has released all slaves-christians.
In 1618 het'man with 20-thousand Cossacs army has departed in Moskow. The Cossacks have divided an army of prince Pozhars'kyi. The victory above turkish troops near Khotyn was received by Sahaidachnyi too.
