STRUSIV

The first mentions refer to 1434 as Pidhorodyche. The modern name carries from beginning of ХVI century. In 1610 the owner - voevode Mykolai Strus' of the arms "Korchak" - has received the royal privilege on carrying out of two fairs in a year. Obviously, then the city has started to use the arms with the image "Korchak" - "gules, argent hamaide".
On March, 17th, 1771, the city has received the Magdeburg Right.
In the end of ХVIII century the Austrian authority has recognized Strusiv as city and confirmed its arms.
